IFP Bachelor's Degree admission

Admission to Bachelor's Degree after IFP

International Foundation Program students will be able to access UC3M undergraduate studies once they have completed the programme, if they meet the established requirements.

Requirements and Selection Criteria

Requirements

1.Have the high school diploma recognized in the Spanish education system:

  • For students with Non European Union high school Diploma:  Hold the recognition of the high school studies (in Spanish: Homologación) by the Spanish Ministry of Education or the copy of the application . More information about the recognition of studies in the Spanish Ministry of Education.
  • For students with European Union high school Diploma: Instead of recognition of studies, submit the credential for university studies in Spain, given by UNED (in spanish, "credencial") through its service UNED assis. More information about UNED assis.

2. Official language certificate with a B2 level or higher. Depending on the language of the degree you wish to access, the following certificates can be presented:

  • Degrees taught in English:
    • FIRST CERTICATE or higher,
    • TOEFL: 72 Internet based points
    • IELTS Academic: 5.5 points
    • TRINITY: ISE II or higher
    • Bachelor's degree completed in an English-speaking education system.
  • Degrees taught in Spanish: B2 in SIELE.

3. Pass at least 42 ECTS in academic subjects of the International Foundation Program.

4. Have obtained at least a GPA of 6.

 

Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed individually and admission to one or other Grade will depend on the following scale:

1. The GPA* obtained in the International Foundation Program will have a weight of 80%. Only grades obtained in academic subjects will be taken into account. Grades obtained in the experiential subjects are excluded from the calculation of this GPA.

2. The GPA* obtained in 2 of the subjects of the International Foundation Program that are basic for the Degree to which the student wants to access, will have a weight of 10%.

  • For Engineering Degrees: Foundations of Algebra, Foundations of Physics, Foundations of Calculus, Foundations of Chemistry and Foundations of Programming.
  • For Bachelor's Degrees in Economics, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Statistics and Business, International Studies and Business and Technology: Foundations of Mathematics, Foundations of Statistics, Foundations of Economics, Foundations of Business Administration.
  • For Bachelor's Degrees in Political Science, Law, Labour Relations, Sociology, Information and Digital Content Management, History and Politics and Tourism: Foundations of Law, Foundations of Political Science, Foundations of Sociology,Foundations of Business Administration. Politics, Foundations of Philosophy, History of Spain, Foundations of Mathematics, Foundations of Economics, Foundations of Statistics.
  • For Degrees in Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, Humanities: History of Spain, Communication, Foundations of Philosophy, Foundations of Mathematics, IFoundations of Economics.

3. The passing of at least 6 credits in undergraduate subjects will have a value of 10%.

*Grade Point Average:  average mark that is calculated taking into account all the academic subjects, both those passed and those failed.

 

Application

In the application it is necessary to indicate 3 studies by priority order. The Bachelor's Degree chosen must be offered by UC3M.

It cannot be applied for: BD. in Sciences, BD. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, UC3M Open BA, and the Dual Degrees.

Only one application per student may be recorded.

Documents to submit:
Recognition of the high school studies (in Spanish: Homologación) by the Spanish Ministry of Education or the credential for university studies in Spain, given by UNED. If you do not have it yet, you will be able to submit it until the end of the program.
