Position Statement
By serving in multiple volunteering roles at IEEE ComSoc, I have gained experience and knowledge that I have invested in improving ComSoc in several areas. I have greatly contributed to ComSoc member satisfaction, recruitment and retention through my leadership of projects to create new services. As VP MGA I implemented mentoring and career development programs for the students and young professionals, improved Chapters funding and enhanced their collaborations, bringing the ComSoc member satisfaction to the highest standards, and spearheading humanitarian and global collaboration activities. As the Director of Online Content, I created the Media Center for members to access video content. I have extensive experience in all aspects covered by ComSoc, including publications, conferences, technical activities and membership. I would like to leverage this diverse experience and background to keep improving ComSoc.
If elected as ComSoc President, it will be my honor to continue serving our community, bringing my viewpoint about technical and strategic aspects to evolve ComSoc in a diverse and sustainable way that is useful for all our members. If entrusted with the confidence of ComSoc members, I will commit my time and dedication to:
- Maintain the high reputation of our publications, conferences and events, and extend our activities in a way that everybody is welcome to participate.
- Increase ComSoc's public visibility, promote the value of our profession and highlight the contributions of our technologies to humanity.
- Offer more benefits and value to our members and promote the sense of belonging to the ComSoc community.
- Increase the participation of industry in our activities and strengthen ComSoc as the preferred venue for industry-academia collaboration.
- Increase the support and funding to chapters, technical committees, and industry communities, as our vehicles to innovate and fulfil our mission.
- Ensure that members from all membership grades and sectors, including students, young professionals, academics and industry members, enjoy the same opportunities to participate.
- Potentiate humanitarian activities and offer support to economically disadvantaged members.
- Promote integrity, openness, diversity and inclusion through the development of transparent processes.
- Improve quality and efficiency in all our operations.
