Fluid Mechanics Group

Description

The Fluid Mechanics Research Group at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid carries out fundamental and applied research in fluid mechanics and transport phenomena, addressing problems of relevance to energy, biomedicine, aeronautics, and industrial processes.

The group combines mathematical modelling and theoretical analysis with high-fidelity numerical simulation and advanced experimental techniques. Its research covers, among other areas, combustion and reactive flows, multiphase and interfacial flows, compressible flows, biofluid mechanics, and electrochemical systems for energy conversion and storage.

The group aims both to advance the fundamental understanding of the physical mechanisms governing these phenomena and to develop predictive models and solutions for technological and biomedical applications, while maintaining strong collaborations with national and international research groups.
