Methodology

The course will be developed through theoretical content classes combined with practical classes. Normally, theoretical classes also include a practical part, so that learning is more enjoyable and effective.

The practical classes consist of the development of role play games, where the students will put into practice the skills, techniques and concepts previously learned.

During the course, students will be evaluated in the different subjects for their participation, practical activities and exams.

The final work will focus on some of the subjects taught during the course and will be chosen by the student himself, with the proper advice of one of the teachers.

Practices

The practices developed throughout the course can be of three classes:

In the first place, practices in the classroom, where role-playing games will be held, assuming students different roles acting as mediators or parties. On certain occasions these practices may be recorded and analyzed.

Secondly, practices may be carried out in real cases in various external institutions (Social Services of the Municipalities of Getafe and Leganés, Municipal Mediation Service of the City Council of Getafe, Family Support Centers (CAF) of the City Council of Madrid, Agency of the Community of Madrid for the Reeducation and Reintegration of the Minor Offender (ARRMI), Courts, Correctional Centers and Primary and Secondary Education Centers, among others) and within the scope chosen by the students themselves, there being the possibility of performing practices in more than one field, for example in family and criminal, school and family mediation, etc.

Third and lastly, in order to facilitate the implementation of the knowledge acquired during the training period, our graduates will be offered the possibility of participating as mediators in the Civil and Criminal Intrajudicial Mediation Programs that the University has implemented in the judicial parties of Leganés and Getafe.
