Researcher support

The mission of the Research Service at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid is to assist researchers in launching, managing, developing, and justifying their research activity. At the same time, this service provides support to the research units (groups, institutes, chairs, laboratories) and manages the Independent Program of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Scientific Policy. Additionally, it conducts prospect, assessment, and accreditation tasks, as well as the dissemination of open calls for grants and guidance for the negotiation of research contracts.

Information and diffusion of R+D grants and subsidies

Locates offers of research grants in the various areas of knowledge at the University and dissemination of  this offer in the regular bulletins and on the website of the grants database.

Assessment in preparation of proposals

Support for researchers in the preparation of proposals, especially in the case of European projects. The Research Office has a highly specialized European Projects in managing such projects.

The European Projects Office participates as beneficiary in the Action Cost, BESTPRAC (15/10/2013-14/10/2015) , funding by the H2020 UE framework programme. This Action aims to advance the state of the art in excellent administration of transnational research projects by creating a network of research administrators that strives to develop knowledge and resources for best practices in transnational research project administration.

Company contracts.

Pursuant to the contracts Art. 83, the University collaborates with a number of businesses and institutions. The Research Service assists in negotiating these contracts which cover projects concerned with transfer of technology and innovation as well as advisory and consulting services and measurement and testing.

Institutional R+D information

University research information is provided by the Research Service. This service draws up institutional research reports such as Research Summary Reports, the research part of the Economic and Management Summary Report, specific reports etc.

Vice Presidency own Scientific Policy Programme

The University has its own grants programme  for research aimed at promoting its R+D policy implemented through a number of actions such as encouraging participation in research projects, a network of managers, funding organisation of conferences, researcher mobility etc.

Coordination of research units

The various research units such as research groups and institutes, laboratories, chairs, centres receive special support from the Research Service. Their tasks include management of different competitions for the units, registration and monitoring etc.

The Research Service is a member of several fora and associations such as Madri+d, RedUgi, RedOtri, etc. which helps it to keep abreast of  the latest news in research management and continue to move forward improving adapting and extending its current services.
