    The Master in Accounting at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid is a one-year full-time official programme designed to provide high quality graduate education in an area that offers excellent professional opportunities at the national and international level. The master is taught entirely in English and it is aimed at recent graduates and junior professionals who wish to acquire a realistic, practical and professional perspective of Accounting and develop their professional or academic career in this area.

    The Master in Accounting is taught at the University's Graduate School, located in Madrid city center's Puerta de Toledo campus. The relative small, yet extremely diverse, group of students in the master, offers an environment that stimulates rigorous, multicultural learning and encourages independent thinking and critical analysis of accounting issues in a complex business environment

    As a unique feature of this Master, students can tailor the program's curriculum according to their career plans by choosing their preferred elective courses. The university also provides students with the option of extra-curricular Spanish training so that all students can learn or improve their working knowledge of one of the leading languages in the world.

  • PROGRAM
    • CURRICULUM

      The syllabus of the Master is structured around 9 central topics, linked to the different areas of expertise within accounting. The program is taught over an 11-month period and it is organized in four 7-week terms.

      The 60 ECTS program consists of compulsory (42 ECTS) and elective courses (12 ECTS) plus an End-of-Master project (6 ECTS) where the student specializes in a particular topic under the guidance of one of our academic experts. The elective courses are designed so that students can specialize in the particular aspects of accounting or related areas that are best suited to enhance his/her career.

      The Academic Committee of the Master complies with the SGIC-UC3M and it is responsible for the quality analysis of the program, it contributes with proposals to improve the program and produces the “Memoria Académica de Titulación”.​

      The request is made electronically through our application. Before starting the admission process it is important to consult the supporting information that we offer below:

      REQUIREMENTS

      Admission will be decided by the Master Academic Committee.

      Priority will be given to applicants whose Bachelor’s studies are related to Finance and Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics and Engineering. Applicants should have a strong desire to develop their career in the accounting or auditing profession. However, outstanding, highly-motivated students from other disciplines, with a quantitative focus, may also be considered, on a case by case basis.

      Students in the last year of their Bachelor’s studies may also apply for admission; their application will be considered upon confirmation that they have successfully completed their Bachelor’s program.

       

      ADMISSION CRITERIA

      Admission will be decided by the Master Academic Committee. Candidate selection will be done on the basis of the following criteria:

      Admission Profile

      The student profile of this Master in Accounting is any individual with a Bachelor or Degree in Finance and Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering with a strong desire to develop their career in the accounting or auditing profession. It must be a person with intellectual curiosity, knowledge of English, and quantitative skills.

      Students that are admitted to the program may be required, depending on their academic background and experience, to go through a carefully selected list of self-study material before the start of the master. This preparatory material is intended to guarantee that all students, with independence of their academic background, share a good understanding of the basic accounting concepts that are essential to start the master program.

      Language requirements

      Check the language requirements of the generic language required to study for a Master at UC3M, depending on whether it is in Spanish, English or bilingual.

      students with foreign university degrees

      Once admitted to the Master, students with university degrees issued by a higher education institution belonging to an educational system outside the EEES, must provide, for enrollment, the diploma, legalized by diplomatic procedures or “The Hague Convention Apostille”. They must also submit the transcript of records, with the grade point average, duly legalized.

      • Reservation fee: €1,500 (It will be paid once the student receives notification of admission to the master, and deducted from the first tuition payment)

      60 ECTS in the first academic year:

      • EU students: €9,000 (€150/ECTS credit)
      • Non EU students: €13,500 (€225/ECTS credit)

      * Pending approval by the Community of Madrid for 2019/2020

      NOTE: The enrollment fees do not include the cost of issuing the master's degree certificate.

      • You may enroll on the master’s degree after completing the admission process and receiving formal confirmation of your acceptance.
      • When performing the enrollment you can choose between  Full-time enrollment or Part-time enrollment.
      • The email address provided upon enrollment will be used for formal communications; students are therefore kindly requested to check their mail regularly.
      • Pursuant to the regulations of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a student failing to pay any part of the fees will not be admitted and the erollment proecess will be terminated. In cases of cancellation of enrollment due to non-payment, the University may demand the payment of the pending amounts for enrollment in previous academic courses as a prior condition of enrollment.
        No diploma or certificate will be issued if a student has any outstanding payments.

  • SCHOLARSHIPS

    UC3M Scholarships for the Year 2019/2020 *

    CALL AM01-19/20

    For the academic year 2019-20 has been published a call for a maximum of 6 grants for payment of the net enrollment rates for students accepted into the Master, with the following provision:

    • 3 grants of € 1,500
    • 2 grants of € 3,000

    To apply for the aid it is necessary to have completed the application for admission to the Master.

     

    Application deadline: 31st May 2019.

    Resolutions: February, April and June 2019.


    The number of grants and amounts specified in the Annex to the notice, may vary depending on the conditions of the candidates who apply to them, can be even deserted as assessed by the Selection Committee for each program.
