    The Master in Accounting at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid is a one-year full-time official programme designed to provide high quality graduate education in an area that offers excellent professional opportunities at the national and international level. The master is taught entirely in English and it is aimed at recent graduates and junior professionals who wish to acquire a realistic, practical and professional perspective of Accounting and develop their professional or academic career in this area.

    The Master in Accounting is taught at the University's Graduate School, located in Madrid city center's Puerta de Toledo campus. The relative small, yet extremely diverse, group of students in the master, offers an environment that stimulates rigorous, multicultural learning and encourages independent thinking and critical analysis of accounting issues in a complex business environment

    As a unique feature of this Master, students can tailor the program's curriculum according to their career plans by choosing their preferred elective courses. The university also provides students with the option of extra-curricular Spanish training so that all students can learn or improve their working knowledge of one of the leading languages in the world.

      The request is made electronically through our application. Before starting the admission process it is important to consult the supporting information that we offer below:

      REQUIREMENTS

      Admission will be decided by the Master’s Academic Committee. The desired profile is the following:

      • Spanish or foreign students who certify meeting the legal access requirements set forth by art. 16 of Royal Decree 1393/2007, with a degree in Finance and Accounting, Economics, Business Administration (quantitative profile), or in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics and Engineering, and who desire to develop their career in the accounting or auditing profession. However, graduates from other disciplines who have a quantitative profile considered appropriate may also apply. The latter will be analysed on a case-by-case basis.
      • If necessary, the Academic Committee will establish additional educational courses to be taken in order to access the Master’s and based on the students’ profiles.

       

      ADMISSION CRITERIA

      Admission will be decided on the basis of the following criteria:

      * Minimum language level required: B2 as per the Common European Framework of Reference

      Admission Profile

      The student profile of this Master in Accounting is any individual with a Bachelor’s or Degree in Finance and Accounting, Economics, Business Administration (quantitative profile), or in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering with a strong desire to develop their career in the accounting or auditing profession. It must be a person with intellectual curiosity, knowledge of English, and quantitative skills.

      Students that are admitted to the program may be required, depending on their academic background and experience, to go through a carefully selected list of self-study material before the start of the master’s. This preparatory material is intended to guarantee that all students, with independence of their academic background, share a good understanding of the basic accounting concepts that are essential to start the master’s programme.

      Language requirements

      Check the general language requirements required to study a Master’s at UC3M, depending on whether it is in Spanish, English or bilingual.

      students with foreign university degrees

      Once admitted to the Master’s, students with university degrees issued by a higher education institution belonging to an educational system outside the EHEA, must provide, for enrolment, the diploma, legalized by diplomatic procedures or by means of The Hague Apostille. They must also submit the transcript of records, with the grade point average, duly legalized.

      If needed, documents must be accompanied by an official sworn translation into Spanish.

    • ENROLLMENT

      FEES *

      2020-2021 Academic year

       

      • Reservation fee: €1,500 (It will be paid once the student receives notification of admission to the master’s, and deducted from the first tuition payment)

      60 ECTS in the first academic year:

      • EU students: €9,000 (€150/ECTS credit)
      • Non EU students: €13,500 (€225/ECTS credit)

      * Pending approval by the Regional government of Madrid for 2020/2021

      NOTE: The enrolment fees do not include the cost of issuing the master’s degree certificate.​

      Additional information

      • You may enrol on the master’s degree after completing the admission process and receiving formal confirmation of your acceptance.
      • When performing the enrolment you can choose between Full-time enrolment or Part-time enrolment.
      • The email address provided upon enrolment will be used for formal communications; students are therefore kindly requested to check their mail regularly.
      • Pursuant to the regulations of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a student failing to pay any part of the fees will not be admitted and the enrolment process will be terminated. In cases of cancellation of enrolment due to non-payment, the University may demand the payment of the pending amounts for enrolment in previous academic courses as a prior condition of enrolment.
        No diploma or certificate will be issued if a student has any outstanding payments.
