David García-Marín

David García-Marín is PhD from UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, Spain). Lecturer in the Department of Journalism & Corporate Communication at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), where he lectures on new technologies and information society, as well as radio production. He is the winner of the Teaching Innovation Award at the URJC in 2021. As a visiting professor, he teaches digital communication and transmedia journalism at UNED, where he has directed several courses on digital media and disinformation. Previously, he was part of the Department of Communication at Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), where he taught Media Theory in English in the degrees of Journalism and Cultural Studies.

His research areas focus on podcasting and digital audio, disinformation, transmedia journalism and artificial intelligence applied to journalism. His research has been published in numerous high impact journals, such as American Journal of Cultural Sociology, Comunicar, Profesional de la Información, Communication and Society, OCNOS or Historia de la Comunicación Social, among others. He has published books and book chapters in the prestigious publishing houses Springer, Brill, Gedisa, Octaedro and UNED. His latest book is La posverdad. Una cartografía de los medios, las redes y la política (Gedisa, 2019).
