This Master’s has a clear professional orientation, offering a specialized and advanced education with a practical outlook in Spanish, European and international intellectual property law. It is the only Master’s specialized in intellectual property and copyright offered by a public Spanish university.

The new information technologies, always linked to intellectual property, have brought about a changing and globalized international environment that is closely related to intellectual property, generating relevant modifications in their legal regime and a thorough revision of traditional business models.

There is great demand for a specific professional education in intellectual property, in both counseling and transaction work and contentious or litigious situations.

It is a branch of the system that constitutes the foundation of creativity and economic, social and cultural development, affects all social spheres, is constantly evolving and demands legal certainty and security.

    • INTERNSHIPS

The practical training of our students is an essential part of their learning program for it implies reviewing, practicing and going deeply into the academic knowledge previously adquired.

This practical training is achieved through two mandatory subjects: "Internship at law firms, companies and institutions" (6 credits), which is carried out on an individual basis, and the Subject "Reports, disputes and litigation" (3 credits), which is carried out in groups. The aim of both subjects is for the student to acquire the skills and responsibilities of someone who works in the field of intellectual and industrial property.

The individual internships are conducted in companies, lawyer’s offices and institutions of the field during the academic year in a compatible schedule with the master’s lectures and have an average duration of three months. However, if the student and the collaborating entity reach an agreement, the internship might be extended for an additional time, through a complementary internship (extracurricular internship).

The quality of the internship program is guaranteed by both the careful selection of the collaborating entities and the personalized follow-up of the internship progress and its final assessment.

      Master in Legal Practice

In its current guise, the Master’s degree in access to Law Practice has developed in response to the requirements of the Law 34/2006 of 30 October regulating access to the professions of lawyer and court procedural representative (procurador), and it also provides an opportunity to improve training in legal practices for law graduates thus facilitating access to the job market.

The Master's degree is carried out jointly, taking advantage of the resources and experience of the ISDE School of Legal Practice approved by the General Law Council which, with its justly merited prestige, has extensive and long experience in training programs for the practice of law.

      Master in Intellectual Property

Furthermore, the Master's degree in Intellectual Property has a clear professional orientation in a subject which represents the basis and substance of the knowledge and information society.

Specialization in this extraordinarily promising discipline with its long term prospects for continuing development and professional validity, with a syllabus developed over the last  11 years  and adapted to professional needs, provides added value and marks out this  qualification for the legal profession, aiming to meet with the current demand for legal experts in intellectual property.
