The researchers Beatriz López Boada and Maria Jesús López Boada, heads of the research group VEDYMEC, are among the world’s most cited (top 2% Scientists of the World) in the field "Automobile Design & Engineering", according to the Ranking of World Scientists 2022 carried out by the University of Standford.
July 2023. Miguel Melenedez Useros has won the runner-up prize of the XX Abertis Award for research in sustainable mobility, in the category of Master's thesis. The title of his Master's thesis was "Estimation of tire-to-road friction coefficient" and was supervised by the professors Beatriz López Boada and Maria Jesús López Boada.
July 2023. Fernando Viadero Monasterio has been elected as member of the Technical Committee for Transportation Machinery of the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM).
June 2023. Fernando Viadero Monasterio defended his PhD Thesis "Desing of driving automation system based on robust control for the improvement of dafety and comfort in vehicles" on June 12th, 2023. The PhD Thesis was supervised by Prof. Beatriz López Boada and Prof. Maria Jesus Lopez Boada.

Members of the research group MECATRAN have participated in the Madrid es Ciencia Fair 2022, from the 2nd – 5th of March 2022, in collaboration with the madri+d Foundation showing our instrumented vehicle, a buggy equipped with sensors and actuators that, in the last few years, have been incorporated into mass production vehicles, in order to improve their safety and comfort.
The research group has joined the European Association Connected, Cooperative & Automated Mobility (CCAM).
