On Monday, January 16th, 2023 we had the great pleasure to host Prof. Tadao Nagatsuma (Graduate School of Engineering Science, University of Osaka), who gave a seminar on Terahertz Wireless Communications towards Beyond 5G/6G. In his talk reviewed recent progress in sub-THz and THz wireless communications technologies towards Beyond 5G/6G, including E-band (60-80 GHz), D-band (110-170 GHz), G-band (140-220 GHz) and J-band (220-325 GHz), and discuss future issues and challenges.

Tadao Nagatsuma received Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1986. From 1986 to 2007, he was with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, NTT, Kanagawa, Japan. Since 2007, he has been with Osaka University, where he is a Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering Science. His research interests include millimeter-wave and terahertz photonics and their applications to wireless communications, sensing, and measurement. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, IEICE, Japan. He currently serves as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. Terahertz Science and Technology, President of the Terahertz Systems Consortium, and Past-Vice President of the IEICE.
