Within the workshop program of European Conference on Optical Communication 2022,  we organised the workshop “Life above 100-GHz: Terahertz device and system challenges and opportunities”. Thanks to all the panelist in "Life above 100-GHz: Terahertz devices and systems challenges and opportunities" workshop held yesterday at #ECOC2022Atsushi Kanno (Nagoya Institute of Technology), Seung-Hyun Cho (ETRI), Muhsin Ali (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), Robert Kohlhaas (Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI), Jeffrey Hesler (Virginia Diodes, Inc.) and Dan Rishavy (FormFactor Inc.), gathered to discuss the issues around the development of millimeter-wave devices, key to the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) TERAmeasure Pathfinder Open project. By far, high data-rate communications is the leading application, targeting D-band frequency range for the wireless segment and Analog-Radio over Fiber in the wired segment.
