Professor Miguel Ángel Marzal García-Quismondo

PhD in History since 1992 with the qualification of Apto cum laude and extraordinary prize, Diploma in Archiving by the Center for Bibliographic and Documentary Studies, Professor in the Library and Documentation Department of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Deputy Director of the Department. Awarded by the Carlos III University of Madrid for his teaching activity, as well as for the research activity and publications in the last two calls, and by the Spanish national evaluation agency, ANECA, with three six years of research, member of Spanish and foreign research teams and institutes, scientific member and organizer of national and international scientific events, member of digital journal committees, project evaluator, PhD and master’s degree in research at Spanish and American universities, scientific advisor in university libraries, director and collaborating member in competitive research projects R&D&I, director of thirteen doctoral theses and director of the research line literacy in information, libraries and digital educational content in the Doctorate of Documentation of the University Carlos III of Madrid, part of specific research agreements with American universities. Author of monographs, journal articles, a part on Web on Science and JCR, and guest speaker at numerous national and international congresses. Four are its publication, professional action and research activities:

  1. Information literacy and knowledge organization in education. as author of monographs and communications in Congresses and articles on Documentation in Didactics, professional training of documentarians, ICT in Education, but very especially oriented towards indicators in Information Literacy, its educational implementation in digital educational libraries, its projection on Web 2.0 and the Content Analysis tools for the semantic web in development of ALFIN Models in CRAI and CREA. Project manager of master’s degree, dissertations and doctoral theses on the topics indicated. Lecturer in the Master of Research and Doctorate of the Carlos III University of Madrid in this topic.
  2. Digital Educational Libraries on which he is the author of monographs, journal articles, director of research projects on university libraries and CRAI, as well as school libraries and CREA, educational content management tools for digital educational libraries and various specialized courses, and a former member of a group at SEDIC.
  3. Virtual and digital educational resources, learning objects, digital educational objects and educational websites, on their treatment (educational metadata), storage and retrieval in digital educational libraries and institutional repositories, with publications and active research projects on the topic.
  4. Content Analysis, for its integration in a research project of the CICYT, as well as Director of various Research Projects: CICYT on Content Analysis instruments for CRAI, another specifically on CRAI in collaboration with REBIUN, a third on Metadata and Tópic Maps of the CAM. He is a participant in international congresses related to the area, author of several articles on new design of thesauri with verbs, conceptual maps, ontologies and teaching in various specialization courses. Lecturer in Masters, Masters and PhDs in Spanish and Ibero-American universities on the topic.
