Professor Miriam Sánchez Manzanares

Miriam Sanchez-Manzanares is the Director of the Postgraduate Business School at Carlos III University of Madrid. She is Associate Professor of Management at the Department of Business Administration in the same university. She received her Ph.D. from Complutense University of Madrid (Best Doctoral Dissertation Award, 2007). Also, she holds a M.A. in Human Resource Management from Autonoma University of Madrid (2003).


Currently, she teaches courses on Organizational Behavior, Leadership and Teams Management to both undergraduate and graduate students in business-related academic programs. Her research interests focus on the impact of diversity on teamwork effectiveness; how teams adapt to changing complex situations; collaboration in virtual work contexts; and the determinants of patient safety in
hospital settings. Her papers have appeared in the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Business & Psychology, and European Journal of Work & Organizational Psychology, among others. In addition, she serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several international journals, such as Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Research, European Management Review, Small Group Research and Journal of Personnel Psychology.


In the field of management, Miriam has been Associate Dean of the degree of Business Administration and Associate Dean of the double degree of International Studies-Business Administration at Carlos III University. Also, she was the co- Director of the Executive Program Progressa of Caixa Bank.
