Professor Laura Branciforte

She is currently a Visiting Reader Professor of Contemporary History at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, teaching the subjects of Contemporary History and History of Contemporary International Relations in Humanities, as well as Humanities Courses. She is also accredited as a Full Professor and Postdoctoral Researcher. She obtained her PhD in 2008, being awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize and has received a PhD Scholarship from Fundación Carlos III de Madrid for writing this thesis and three pre-doctoral scholarships for research stays abroad granted by Universidad Carlos III (Università degli Studi del'Aquila 2008, Université Paris X, Nanterre, Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza”). She has completed the “European Cultural Planning” Master (1999-2002) at De Montfort University, Leicester. She has regularly coordinated and organised national and international Seminars and Congresses. She is a member of the Instituto de Historiografía Julio Caro Baroja and the Instituto de Estudios de Género Institute of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She has been a Principal Researcher and member of numerous research projects, highlighting, as Principal Researcher: Las relaciones culturales hispano-italianas en los años cincuenta, Comunidad de Madrid/ UC3M, 2011. Her main lines of research on fascism and anti- fascism, gender history and diplomatic-cultural relations between Spain and Italy are reflected in an extensive scientific production. She has participated with communications and as guest speaker at around 60 national and international research meetings, with the publication of 6 monographs and about 30 publications comprising book chapters and articles. She has received the 2017 Award for Excellence and Entrepreneurship from the Social Committee of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
