UC3M New University Master’s in Computing Technologies applied to the Financial Sector

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is offering a new University Master’s in Computing Technologies Applied to the Financial Sector for professionals with IT knowledge who wish to acquire concepts and technologies specific to the financial sector.

The program’s aim is to train professionals in this field of software development geared toward financial markets.  Its impetus is the great need for professionals in information technologies and communications and with a sound base in finance in the labor market.  For that purpose, the training of students is based on technological aspects as well as essential areas of financial markets.  The Master’s program is structured into four broad areas:  introduction to financial markets, applied technologies, development of financial software and lastly, Big Data and support systems for financial decisions.  

The Master’s is taught in Spanish in a blended format to enable it to be compatible with other work and professional commitments. In addition to the different seminars and laboratory sessions, students will carry out professional internships in the sector’s main companies, such as and Comunytek Consultores,  RDSistemas, Indizen and UST Global.  The company Comunytek Consultores S.L. is also one of the chief sponsors of the Master’s program.  Students can also take advantage of grants and financial aid as well as the UC3M Orientación & Empleo (Career Guidance and Placement) Service to facilitate their access into the job market in a sector with high employability.

This is one of the eight new university Master’s programs offered by UC3M for academic year 2016/ 2017:  Social Sciences, Communications and Advertising, Administrative Management, Computer Technologies applied to the Financial Sector, Smart Grid Technologies, Mobile Technologies and Services, Transparency and Good Government and Sustainable Urbanism and Urban Policies.

UC3M has a total of 64 official Master’s programs (17 in Law; 12 in Economics and Business; 12 in Humanities, Communication, Documentation and Social Sciences; 23 in Engineering and Basic Sciences), in addition to 41 UC3M-accredited programs.  Approximately 15 percent of the programs are taught in a bilingual format, and around 20 percent are taught solely in English.  The admission requirements and the necessary documentation are different for each case, and can be consulted under specific requirements in the “Admissions” section for the different programs.
