UC3M students carried out more than 5,400 professional internships in 2015

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), through the UC3M Foundation’s Orientación & Empleo (Career and Professional Development) Service, managed 5,478 professional internships for students in companies and institutions in 2015, approximately 700 more than in 2014. Students gave the internships a 4.4 quality rating (out of 5) in a satisfaction survey carried out at the end of their internships.

The total amount of internship grants on the part of companies reached 9.2 million euros. At present, UC3M has more than 5,500 current professional internship agreements with companies and institutions. 

In addition, during this period, more than 2,000 students took part in activities organized by this university service, which included: career guidance sessions, personal career coaching interviews, professional skills and job hunting workshops, company presentations and career and employment opportunities conferences, among others. Their aim is to facilitate students’ entry into the professional world.  

Another annual events organized by Orientación & Empleo is Forempleo is Foro del Primer Empleo (First Job Forum) which was held on the Leganes campus in October. More than 10,000 university students and graduates attended in the last edition, with the participation of 96 companies, which represented a broad spectrum of the different professional sectors. This attendance figure is the highest since 2008 and is twenty percent higher than in 2014.
