The objective of these lectures is to inform these new international students of the general functioning of the UC3M. They are also introduced to Spanish students participating voluntarily in the Buddy Programme to help them resolve any problems and doubts that could arise during their first days at the University.

On the 23rd of January, 700 students participating in Courses in Hispanic Studies, the Study Abroad Program and the Free Mover programme (visiting students) were welcomed on the Getafe Campus. Various representatives from the Carlos III International School (C3IS) and the Embassy of the United States of America took part in the first welcome event, which took place in the Aula Magna. Following that, the students shared breakfast in the campus´ main cafeteria. The event closed with a meeting between the students and their buddies and a visit to different information points organised for the day in the sports facilities and the University’s Language Centre.

On the 24th of January, another event was held on the Leganés Campus to welcome around 800 international exchange students on the Erasmus+ and Non-European Mobility Programmes who will be at the UC3M during the second semester. Representatives of the Vice-President of International Relations and European University participated in the welcome event in the EPS Polytechnic School, alongside various student associations: BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) and ESN (Erasmus Student Network). Afterwards, a breakfast was held for them to meet other international students and the buddies. The attendees were also able to familiarise themselves with the sports centre, as well as inform themselves of the Language Centre, accommodation options and the medical service on campus, for example.
