The UC3M holds Forempleo 2019

The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is holding a new edition of Forempleo, “la Feria para el Primer Empleo” which is for young students who have just graduated and are looking for their first job. The event will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of October at its Leganés campus, welcoming more than 120 big companies. Entrance is free for students and graduates from any university and pre-registration is not required.
This year, Forempleo holds its 24th edition and has established itself as the biggest employment fair for jobs and internships for university students in the Community of Madrid. This event gives students and graduates direct access to HR staff from a range of big companies which cover a wide variety of sectors. Students can also attend talks, meetings and presentations about how to find employment.
This edition will also have some new activities: in the "Elevator Pitch", students will learn how to present their CV in 1 minute; in the "Simulations", students get first-hand experience of how to prepare for job interviews or deal with group dynamics; they can also take part in the "Escape Room", which is an activity organized by one of the participating companies looking to identify suitable candidates.
There is also the "Bridge to Employment", which takes place for a fourth consecutive year due to its past success. It offers students the opportunity to get a free professional photo and a one to one meeting with an employment expert, who will give them advice, help to review their CV and carry out an audit of their online profile. The Fair also offers the opportunity to participate in a total of 28 meetings with HR professionals from big companies.
Forempleo provides companies with the ability to register the CV of students through a QR code. The goal of this is to make this process more direct as well as sustainable by saving paper
In 2018, the fair had more than 7000 visitors and handled 5000 CVs. The most popular employment sectors among visitors were manufacturing/industry, consulting, energy, computer science and aerospace. 62% of visitors were looking for internships or final year projects, while 24% were looking for a job.
The UC3M continues to have high rates of student employment: 92.2 per cent of their graduates found work in the year following their graduation, according to the “XXIII Estudio de Inserción Profesional” (Employment Attainment Study) carried out by the UC3M, which was developed by the Fundación Universidad Carlos III, through its Career Guidance and Employment Service. The report also shows the general satisfaction level of graduates is very high and 97.5% of them would recommend studying at the UC3M.
The UC3M considers graduate employment as one of its strategic priorities. It has agreements with more than 6000 companies and institutions which give students access to internships and the respective job markets. It also has specific services to promote job access and advancement through various internship and employment programmes.
