The aim of these welcome days is to help these new undergraduate and post-graduate students to get to know the general running of the university. Spanish students taking part voluntarily in the Buddy Program are also introduced to them, in order to help them solve any problems or doubts they might have during their first days at the university.

The nearly 2,000 international students who are coming to UC3M during the first term come from almost fifty different countries. The majority come from countries within Europe, such as Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Holland, but the number of students from the United States, Brazil, Australia or Canada is also significant.

UC3M is a leader in internationalisation with 67.5 per cent of their undergraduate studies taught in English or bilingually. 43 per cent of its graduates have taken part in mobility programmes and it has more than 800 exchange partnerships with universities from 56 countries, among which are some of the best institutions in the world, offering more than 6,000 internship agreements with companies and institutions. It is the top university in Spain and the third in Europe for the number of students taking part in the Erasmus programme. Several of their graduates have received prestigious international certifications: AACSB, AMBA, CAIA o EUR-ACE, among others.

UC3M is also running a welcome activity programme on 4th and 5th September so that its new national undergraduate students can get to know the university. For this, guidance sessions, a gymkhana and presentations of qualifications and the main services the university offers are organised. Information tents will be set up on the Colmenarejo, Getafe and Leganés campus’ to inform students about the different aspects of university life, including services such as the languages centre, sports, culture, guidance, associations, student committee, youth information, etc.
