UC3M, the second Spanish university in attraction of international talent
1/12/18
Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is the second university in attracting international talent to its faculty, according to government sources published in the El Pais newspaper. UC3M has 5.9 % of all international teaching faculty that are working in Spanish public universities, while the average in these institutions is 1.8%.
With this figure, UC3M is in second place nationally, behind Universidad Pompeu Fabra (12.1%) and ahead of the universities Autónoma de Barcelona (4.6 %), Politécnica de Cataluña (3.7 %), Rovira y Virgili (3,5 %) and Autónoma de Madrid (3.2 %).
Among these 6 institutions (the only ones with a figure higher than 3%) are those which make up the Alianza 4 Universidades (UAB, UAM, UC3M and UPF), which was created a decade ago with a commitment to promoting excellence in teaching and scientific research.
These data come from the Government’s response to a parliamentary question posed by a socialist representative regarding the current percentage of international professors in the Spanish public universities, broken down by Autonomous regions, provinces and universities.
