The aim of these sessions is to inform new undergraduate and graduate students about the overall functioning of the University. For this purpose, a series of informative events about different aspects of university life have been organized with students also being introduced to Spanish student volunteers from the UC3M Buddy Programme program to help them resolve any problems or doubts that arise during their first days at UC3M.

The 1,545 international students attending UC3M during this first semester come from approximately 50 different countries.  The majority are from Europe: Italy, France, United Kingdom, Germany and The Netherlands.  Notwithstanding, a significant number of students come from other parts of the world, such as the United States, Brazil, Australia and Canada.

UC3M is committed to internationalization and has a large number of agreements with top universities worldwide that are aimed at fomenting academic mobility.   Specifically, it has signed 924 international mobility agreements with universities from 60 countries and it is one of the first universities in Spain and Europe in the number of students participating in the Erasmus+ program.  The percentage of international students who come to pursue a master’s, a PhD, or other types of studies, is steadily increasing at UC3M.  At present, they represent 20% of the total number of students.  In fact, UC3M is the Spanish university with the greatest offer of undergraduate degrees taught in English or bilingually in both English and Spanish (27%), representing 67% of its academic offer.

Welcome Event

UC3M is also undertaking welcome activities for its new incoming Spanish students on September 4, 5 and 6 to acquaint them and their families with University.  Accordingly, these sessions provide them with an introduction to our institution, orientation on resources available to students, and information about all the degree programs offered at the University.
