The current edition includes 69 Spanish universities (47 public and 22 private), of the 82 existing ones (50 public and 32 private). The ranking takes into account 1,741 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs and allows the performance levels of 33 indicators to be identified by university as well as by knowledge areas.

The fourth edition of the Ranking CYD, promoted by the Fundación and which is presided over by Ana Botín, is based on data from various sources: the institutions themselves; the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport; bibliometric information and patents.  Its online tool enables identification of the Spanish universities and studies that best adapt to students’ interests.
