UC3M had 13.57% of its Bachelor’s degree students participate in a foreign exchange program (outbound as well as inbound) through Erasmus+ during academic year 2014-2015. Following UC3M are the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, with 10.41%, and the Universidad Pompeu Fabra, with 9.94%.

Erasmus+ Program at the UC3M

Thanks to agreements signed by the UC3M with 334 universities in 29 European Union countries, 1,622 Erasmus+ exchanges are being offered in academic year 2016/2017. As part of the exchange program, the UC3M could receive a similar number of Bachelor’s degree and graduate students from member universities arriving to study one or several terms in Spanish or English.

During academic year 2016-2017, a total of 798 students from UC3M will pursue their studies within the framework of the Erasmus+ program at universities in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Switzerland and Turkey.

In turn, a total of 908 foreign students from 340 universities in 28 countries will study a UC3M. The students come from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Switzerland and Turkey.

The Erasmus+ program allows Bachelor’s degree and graduate students from UC3M to study one or several semesters at one of the European universities with which UC3M has an agreement. Another option is to do an Erasmus Placement, an internship at an EU company. These exchanges come with a grant thanks to the Erasmus Scholarships, provided by the EU and the Spanish Ministry of Education. Places are offered on the basis of a call for applications and awarded to top students who meet the foreign language requirements (English, French, German) of the member university in question.
