Who is the MakerSpace for?

The MakerSpace is a space intended for undergraduate and master students at the Carlos III University of Madrid, designed to encourage creativity and inspiration through the maker movement. This movement seeks to create value, content and knowledge based on direct experience (learning by doing) to develop activities, both individually and collectively.

In this way, the university offers students a space for learning and digital creation based on collaboration and the exchange of experiences and knowledge. It will allow the implementation of prototypes and innovative ideas in an environment that fosters cooperation, multidisciplinarity, group work and entrepreneurship.

The MakerSpace has been designed for all Bachelor and Master students who wish to deepen their knowledge and creative and technological skills. In addition, it will offer events that promote horizontal exchange and creativity, such as discussion panels, courses, workshops ...

How to use the MakerSpace?

There are three modes of use of the MakerSpace, which allow students to explore their possibilities according to their needs:

  • Individual Project Modality. Where students can propose a job that complements their learning within the university, either with innovative or entrepreneurial ideas, or with work arising from the university activity itself. Within this modality, projects related to Final Studies are included.
  • Collective Modality. Where students can give free rein to their ideas and creativity through proposals for group work. This modality seeks to promote group work, multidisciplinarity and entrepreneurship by offering a meeting and teamwork space.
  • Modality Associations. The student associations of the Carlos III University of Madrid have in the MakerSpace a space where they can develop their projects and activities, both creative and dissemination.

To use the MakerSpace you have to fill out the "USE THE MAKERSPACE" form and propose a project in any of the modalities of use. The project must be related to one of the study programs of the Carlos III University of Madrid. When your proposal is accepted you must pass a training process to use the equipment. Once trained, you can now reserve the spaces and equipment, through the Reserve button.

If you want to know the space, come and we will inform you. Cheer up to visit us!
