The International School of Carlos III University in Madrid (C3IS) has been awarded an honorable mention in the prestigious IIE Heiskell Awards, presented by the Institute of International Education (IIE) in the United States. This recognition, in the category “Widening Access for International Education,” highlights the work of C3IS in promoting international education through its International Foundation Program.

The International Foundation Program is an undergraduate academic initiative designed to prepare international students for the demands of the Spanish university system, especially at UC3M. In addition to providing a solid foundation in the Spanish language and culture, the program offers pathways to degrees in Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as Engineering and Health Sciences. It is structured in two semesters: from September to December and from late January to June.

The awards ceremony took place in San Diego, United States, on May 28, and was attended by the director of the C3IS office, Dolores Morell.

This recognition reaffirms C3IS's commitment to the internationalization of education and its ongoing efforts to facilitate access for international students to the Spanish university system.
