    The Máster en Industria Musical y Estudios Sonoros (mimes) responds to the need to train professionals and researchers to the challenges of digitization and transformation of the sound field and the music industry. Know investigate the processes of musical creation, drive innovation in the different facets of the sound world and develop critical thinking to changes in the industry are the objectives of this program.

    Mimes provides tools to manage audio content, creating a musical radio, understanding the changing sound environment, working in the field of live music or doing research on the sector.

    Mimes presents the different genres present in the industry (electronic, indie, flamenco, rock, jazz, world music, reggaeton, contemporary and classical music, sound art ...) observed from a multidisciplinary and international approach with a combined look of academics and professionals.

    FIRST TERM

    MODULE THEORY AND HISTORY: HOW THE soundstages frame (6 ECTS)
    Coordinator: Prof. José Luis Espejo

    • Sound introduction to studies. Definitions and perspectives. Poetics and politics of the sound. sound ecology.  
    • Listening modes, modes of analysis. Music, sound and cultural theory.  
    • Music and sound art. Objects. Installations. Executions.

    MODULE STRUCTURE AND POLICIES OF MUSICAL SECTOR (6 ECTS)

    • Structures and systems of production, distribution, marketing and consumption of music products.  
    • Organization musical system serving economic, political and social parameters.  
    • Policies for the music industry nationally and internationally.

      Admission requirements

      It is recommended that entrants to Master possess a university degree in any of the following qualifications:

      • Audiovisual communication.
      • Journalism.
      • Business Administration.
      • Sociology.
      • Sound engineering.
      • History of art.
      • Musicology.
      • Advertising and public relations.
      • Marketing.

      Professional experience: positively assess the professional experience of applicants to perform the Master.

      • Should not finishing the studies: Statement of having finished the previous studies

      • Optional: certificate of English; the student who intends to study the Master must demonstrate that they have achieved proficiency in English equivalent to the level of Independent User (Independent User): B1 and B2 of the CEFR.

      The master address appraise applications serving the curricular merits of the candidates. Applicants will be invited to a personal interview or through video conferencing in order to assess their interest, suitability and disposition.

      Upon acceptance of the application may deposit 1000 Euros for reservation fee, to be considered as payment for tuition. But if it does not reach formalized, this amount is non-refundable.

    • REGISTRATION

      Registration fee: 5,900 euros


      Reservation

      Upon acceptance of the application, must be deposited in concept of reservation € 1,000, which are considered as payment for tuition. If it does not reach formalized, this amount is non-refundable.


      Payment options

      You may pay the entire enrollment rate at the time of the reservation fee or proceed to pay the remaining amount in installments in two installments:

      • € 2450 with deadline on October 31, 2019.
      • € 2450, deadline March 15, 2020



      Enrollment

      Enrollment involves effective assignment as a student of Master in Music Industry and soundstages.

      Of the total amount of tuition the sum of the amount paid as reservation fee is deducted.

      Students will enroll compulsorily in all credits for their degree.


      Additional Information

      a) The email address that facilitates University students, once the registration will be used primarily in communications with the student, so it is imperative activation and periodic consultation.

      b) Failure to pay by the due date will mean the denial or cancellation of registration under the terms and effects established University.

  • PRACTICAL INFORMATION

    Internships in companies

    The mimes offers the possibility of internships in a company or institution musical, radio or other sector whenever possible. These practices are optional and have a corresponding value in ECTS credits.

    The internship is done throughout the course and in subsequent months at the same based on availability. The process of selecting candidates to make such practices is done by the companies / institutions. The Mimes is a mere mediator between the internship and stakeholders.
