    The objective of the Máster en Periodismo de Agencia UC3M-EFE is to train journalists agency with a multipurpose profile that allows them to develop their work in agencies, national and international news. The agency journalist is the professional who has more contact with the news and information sources today; its role is to provide content to the media, helping to create the media agenda.

    The Master is done in collaboration with EFE, the first news agency in Spanish and fourth in the world, with nearly eighty years of experience supporting its journalistic reputation. EFE distributes news almost three million a year in various news media: multimedia text, photographs, audio, video and arriving daily to thousands of media subscribers to the agency in the world.

    Master participate in both academic and professional EFE. Students come into contact with the first day routines news agency.

    They also conduct mandatory six-month internship in the central office in Madrid or in important international delegations such as Brussels, Buenos Aires, London, Paris, La Paz, Santiago de Chile, Vienna, among others.

      Qualification required

      Students wishing to enter the Master must be in possession of a degree / Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Audiovisual Communication or other related areas.  

      The Steering Committee estimate nominations proving to different degrees mentioned if curriculum reform is found to the objectives and powers of the master.


      Student profile

      The student who wants to study the Master must have prior knowledge in the field of journalism and communication that allow optimum use of the skills provided.

      These studies also aimed at information professionals interested in updating their knowledge or professional profile.

      Admission process

      he first deadline for submitting applications is open until 15 July. Extended the deadline until 15 October to cover the last places.

      The registration fee is 9000 €.

      The tuition program will be split into several installments distributed as follows:

      • First term: Once notified in writing admission, you must enter the amount of 1,000 €, as payment of the first installment and reservations.
      • Second term: amounting to € 4,000 before 31 October.
      • Third installment, amounting to 4,000 €, before 15 March.

      Payment of the reservation fee is non-refundable unless the University attributable to causes.


    Journalist news agency is the first link in the news, critical journalism genre. The graduate in this master will be able to produce informative pieces since its inception (search and investigation), develop them and develop them to be distributed in any format (text, audio, television or multimedia). You will also learn to treat rigorously news sources to verify the data and correctly use oral and written language.

    Competencies and skills that students acquire are related to:

    • Drafting and development of information genres for distribution in any format (text, audio, television and / or multimedia).
    • news treatment today from any perspective: international, national, sports, economy and culture.
    • Development of graphic and multimedia information.
    • Creation and development of informational videos.
    • Using social networks in the diffusion and transmission of information.
    • correct use of language, taking into account the gender perspective to avoid sexist language.                       

    The student of the Máster en Periodismo de Agencia UC3M-EFE is able to work in any national or international agency news, media (television, newspapers, radio or web) and / or communication cabinets.


    Duration and Schedule

    The Masters will begin in early November and ends in late November of the following year. It lasts 13 months (7 months of academic training and 6 months internship starting in June).

    The master's degree is offered Monday through Thursday from 16:00 to 20:00.

    Some Fridays are reserved for visits, seminars and other activities proposed by management.



    Mandatory paid internship for 6 months in the Central of EFE in Madrid or its branches in Spain or abroad.
