- Accepted papers in Photonics West 2023
Event Date: 28 January - 2 February 2023
This year, GOTL has 4 accepted papers at SPIE Photonics West 2023 conference of which 3 first author and 1 co-authored paper. On 29th of January, two of the contributions focus on a compact, low-cost tunable ultra-wideband laser ultrasound emitter demonstrating ultrasonic imaging capabilities and an experimental study on high-power diode lasers under high-current short pulses. Both papers aim at biomedical imaging applications and will be presented in the "Photons Plus Ultrasound: Imaging and Sensing 2023" by Horacio Lamela. On 30th of January, within the collaboration of LeapWave Technologies (spin-off company from UC3M) and GOTL, Muhsin Ali will present the novelty of the RF interconnection technique proposed by both research teams during the "Terahertz, RF, Millimeter, and Submillimeter-Wave Technology and Applications XVI" conference. Ultra-broadband interconnecting thanks to the dielectric rod waveguide (DRW) technology, can enable multiple waveguide output for terahertz photodiodes. Furthermore, current results related to a developing RF photonics transmitter based on silicon for sub-THz communications within the TERAOPTICS project and in collaboration with Synopsys Photonics Solutions and TowerJazz Semiconductors foundry will be presented in "Integrated Optics: Devices, Materials, and Technologies XXVII" conference by Kalliopi Spanidou.
