UC3M is starting out in the area of biomedical sciences by making the new Faculty of Health Sciences available for research, science and social welfare. The creation of a centre like this is a step forward in addressing the social, economic and health challenges of the coming years, strengthening collaboration with European and international networks and promoting scientific and biomedical research in Spain. It will also contribute to strengthening and completing the University's structure and educational offer.

This new faculty will teach degrees in the area of health sciences which will start in September 2024. The first to be launched is the Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience, a pioneer in Spain in this field. Bachelor's and postgraduate degree courses related to this field of knowledge will be initiated gradually. All of them will be characterised by being interdisciplinary and strongly innovative, with an international orientation and a comprehensive education.

The faculty will be located on the Getafe Campus, with an area of 10,000 square metres. It will have a four-storey building that will be equipped with state-of-the-art teaching material, work spaces, multifunctional rooms and four types of laboratories: teaching, technological, dry labs and wet labs.
