Twenty UC3M Master’s programs among the best in Spain

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is one of the best Spanish institutions for pursuing a graduate degree, according to the Master’s 250 ranking, which was published by the Spanish daily El Mundo for the thirteenth consecutive year. According to the results of the report, the UC3M has 20 Master’s programs in the top five spots among the 50 specializations this report evaluates.

This guide compiles the 250 best graduate programs, which were chosen from among more than a thousand options analyzed. The goal is to make the future student’s choice easier. Only degrees that meet the following requirements were considered: they must be on-campus programs; they must be taught in Spain; they must have at least 500 contact hours; and they must be at least four years old. This last requirement excludes a good number of UC3M programs that were introduced during this period.

More than 800 experts, professors, students, former students of the degree courses and collaborating companies teamed up to make this year’s list. They considered a total of 25 criteria related to demand, human resources, plans of study, results and material resources these Master’s programs have.

New graduate offers

For academic year 2017-18, UC3M is increasing its graduate offer with three new university Master’s programs: International Law, Photonics Engineering and Civil Responsibility. In addition, UC3M, through its School of Continuing Education, is launching 16 new degrees run by the university itself: a Master’s in Training of Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language (on line); a Master’s, Specialist and Expert in Educational Innovation, “Laboratory of New Education;” Specialist in Public Affairs and Lobbying; Specialist in Active Citizenry and Good Governance; Specialist in Regulatory Compliance of Financial Markets; Specialist in Banking Law and Financial Regulation; Specialist in Competition Law; Specialist in Corporate Law; Specialist in Energy Law; Specialist in Transportation and Postal Sector Law; Specialist in Economics  of Regulated Markets; Specialist in Labor Procedure Practice; Expert in Cataloguing and Normalization in Libraries; and Expert in Inclusive Tourism.

UC3M has a total of 62 official Master’s programs (16 in Law, eight in Business, six in Economics and Political Science, 10 in Humanities and Communication, 22 in Engineering and Basic Sciences), along with 10 double Master’s programs (seven in the field of Law and three in Engineering). Furthermore, there are 54 UC3M-accredited programs (31 Master’s programs, 14 Specialist programs and 9 Expert programs). Around 15% of the programs are bilingual and approximately 20% are taught in English.
