Basic blocks

In the Master in Technologies in the Financial Sector: FinTech, the students receive training in technological aspects, although also in financial markets’ key aspects. The program is divided into four basic blocks:

  1. Introduction to Financial Markets. It introduces the student to the main financial markets’ concepts and regulation applied to this sector.
  2. Technologies Applied to the Financial Markets. The main ICTs technologies applied to the financial markets are described in-depth, including the most common information systems, the technological infrastructures needed for their implementation and integration with other systems, the main standards applied to the sector.
  3. Financial Software Development. It focuses on the main aspects concerning software development for financial markets. Thus, the students acquire knowledge related to high performance programming, but also specific algorithm development. Specific knowledge in financial software engineering and management processes are also provided.
  4. Decision-making Support Systems. The aim of this block is to provide the student with knowledge and skills related to decision-making support systems. On one hand, it focuses on the technologies covered by the term Big Data; on the other hand, it covers classical techniques for data analysis and intelligent systems supporting the decision-process.
