Continuous assessment

UC3M teaching model is based on in continuous assessment, so it's very important the student effort for four-month, his active participation in classes, works and practices. In that way, the student work have a 40% minimum evaluation in each course. The final exam have a 60% maximum evaluation. In some courses there isn't final exam and the mark is based on daily work. 

In this way, UC3M degrees are on-campus. It's indispensable that you attend to class since the beginning.

ECTS Credits

The ECTS  (European Credit Transfer System)  represents the amount of work done by a student in order to comply with the course objectives. It includes class hours, study hours, completed assignments, tests etc. In this way the importance of a subject is calculated on the student's efforts not on class hours.
It is also the academic measurement unit used throughout Europe. 1 ECTS credit is equivalent to 25 hours of study.

Working students

If you are working or for some other reason cannot attend your course full time, you can undertake part time studies. In this case, during the first year you should register for 30 credits, and complete a minimum of 18 credits in subsequent years.
