Information

Robotics is at its very peak nowadays, due to the maturity of traditional industrial robotics and the application of robotics to a new series of fields, from disabled people assistance to space exploration. This new robotics, which shall be considered as still in an experimental phase, will provide new products in both industrial and services sectors.

Robotics enjoys a multidisciplinary character and it requires a work team of professionals from very different fields. The Masters Programme is designed for students with an academic background in informatics, electricity, electronics, mechanics, communications, biotechnology, etc, who are wishing to complete their basic training with a specialisation in robotics and automation.

The Master is organised in a practical basis. The vast majority of courses promote the student work, in an individual way and also working in teams. The Department of Systems Engineering and Automation has an international reputation within the field and it is equipped with laboratories and robots for the students to experiment.

There are two kinds of courses: focused on the study of techniques related to robotics and those focused on a detailed study of diverse applications and types of robots. Below is an example of the most important ones:

  • Assistance robots
  • Personal robots
  • Humanoid robots
  • Space robots
  • Unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Intelligent transportation systems
  • Industrial robots
  • Mobile robots
  • Construction robots
