Network and e-Business Centred Computing is one of the areas where academic education is highly demanded. The vast majority of companies and institutions hold a specific department of information technologies, aimed to organise networks, platforms and applications for electronic commerce and network communications. Likewise, those companies have a web site which does not only provide corporate information but is also able to interact with customers/users/suppliers.
It is important to emphasise that the current demand for professionals is driven by the application of information technologies to the production processes (resulting, for instance, in the improvement of communication channels, the automation of bussines processes, the internal productivity enhancement, etc)
In order to place our global society in a privileged position in the development of the Information Society, the adequate training of professionals in the field of e-business centred network computing is highly recommended as well as for their incorporation to the labour market.
