WHAT IS CEH? Every semester almost 200 students from the most prestigious North American universities come to UC3M to study with Curso de Estudios Hispánicos (CEH). During their time at the university, these students have the same rights and responsibilities as regular students. In fact, Montserrat Iglesias, Director of CEH and Chancellor of Communications and Extra Curricular Activities, adds that "CEH is a great door to access UC3M; the majority of CEH's success is because the program promotes the integration of these students with the rest of the community of local and foreign students. The experience enriches not only the North American students, but also the rest of the university community." Doctor Iglesias goes on to say, "The demanding level of the program, along with its great quality is some of the other distinctive characteristics that CEH has to offer to its students. We want our students to not only have a successful cultural immersion, but also a relevant academic experience." And she adds: "They know what is needed to as work hard as a regular student, and also that our university is proud of their participation. After their time at UC3M, they are our best ambassadors."

WHAT TYPES OF CLASSES CAN STUDENTS TAKE? The majority of CEH students take at least one regular course in the field of their choice, or just in the humanities department. They can also choose among specific courses which have been designed especially for them, and are offered for fourteen weeks. These courses cover a wide variety of fields from literature, history, law, economy, geography, gender and cultural studies. Students will also take Spanish grammar classes which serve to significantly improve their language skills. Students also have the opportunity to participate in sport and cultural activities associated with the University such as the theater club, the university orchestra or a varsity team.
