This university-wide strategic initiative is projected to bring up to ten new faculty members, including three possible endowed chair positions, to campus over the next two years. The new faculty will be affiliated with the Department of Biomedical Engineering and expected to become active participants in research at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, developing the key focus areas of:
- Medical Devices and Instrumentation,
- Medical Imaging, and
- Tissue Engineering.
The faculty hired through this initiative are expected to establish vigorous, internationally-competitive research program and to be committed to excellence, in both undergraduate and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) education.
Applicants employing interdisciplinary and multi-scale approaches, coupled with new technological tools, those who complement existing strengths of the university and those with the potential to attract extramural research funding, are especially encouraged to apply.
