The Department of Business Administration faculty conduct research and teach in all the areas of business:

While some faculty members have backgrounds in the traditional management areas, others come from other business-related disciplines. This interdisciplinary character provides a more complete approach to business problems and is also a major driving force of research.

Faculty members have published in the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Econometrica, Journal of Finance, Management Science, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Review of Financial Studies or The Accounting Review.

The Department provides faculty members with incentives to publish in top journals, funding for conferences, and advanced computer resources. Faculty members are also active in looking for research funding from public and private institutions. The Department also offers an official post-graduate programme jointly with the department of Statistics, which includes the Master in Business Administration and Quantitative Methods, and the Ph.D. program in Business Administration and Quantitative Methods.

We have a strong international orientation. We hire graduates from foreign as well as national Ph.D. programs. We encourage interaction with researchers from other countries by regularly hosting international visiting professors and by facilitating visits of our faculty members to universities around the world. We are part of the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM). We have been active participants in the creation of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management (IAM) and the European Academy of Management (EURAM).

The department is open to society at large and the business and academic communities in particular. We are committed to the training of business professionals through our professional Master's and continued education programs. And we have an "open door" policy towards professors and Ph.D. students from national and foreign universities.

The MBA programme is accredited by the Association of MBAs. This is the first Master programme offered by a Spanish public university to hold an international quality seal of this kind.
