Curriculum: Elcio Mendonça is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Administration at University Carlos III of Madrid. He obtained his PhD at University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, where he taught Operations Management and Project Management. In 2009 he was awarded by the Spanish Centre of Logistics (CEL) as a finalist in the category “Premio CEL Universidad” for his doctoral thesis. Currently, he teaches Operations Management in both undergraduate and MBA courses. His primary research focus is Supply Chain Management. He is currently investigating how firms “green” their supply chains and design sustainable strategies. His research results have been published in prestigious journals such as International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics and the International Journal of Operations and Production Management. Moreover, he has published some results of his research at specialized magazines in the areas of Purchasing and Logistics, such as Gestión de Compras and Logicel. He also contributes as an ad hoc reviewer to the International Journal of Production Research and the International Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management.
