Curriculum

Clara Cardone-Riportella is Associate Professor of Financial Economics and Accounting at the Department of Business Administration at Carlos III University (Spain). She holds a PhD in Business Administration from Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, and a degree in Economics and Business Administration, from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Argentina).

Professor Cardone’s research is currently focused on Small and Medium Enterprises Financing, Teaching Quality in MBA programs and Banking Economy. She has published in Journal of Banking and Finance; Scandinavian Journal of Management; Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance; International Small Business Journal, etc. She also serves as ad hoc reviewer for some finance and management journals. Some of her works have been selected to be presented in both, national and international conferences.

She has participated in some scientific exchanges in Spain (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca), USA (Rochester University, NY), Italy (Universita’ Degli Studi di Udine); United Kingdom (Reading University) and in several Latin American Universities. She has conducted postdoctoral studies at London School of Economics (UK). 

She teaches Financial Economics and International Finance to undergrads and postgraduates students, Official Masters (Universidad Pablo de Olavide and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos) and in PhD programs (Universidad de Almería and Universidad de Granada).

Currently, and from 1997, she is the director of the Master of Business Administration (Spanish and English version) within the Department of Business Administration of the Carlos III University. She is former Vice-director of the Department of Business Administration at Carlos III University. (1998-2003).

She is a member of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), the National Evaluation and Foresight Agency (ANEP), and some other regional committees.
