Welcome!

The Department of Business Administration at Carlos III, consistently ranked first in Business Administration Studies in Spain, is committed to high quality teaching and research.

Faculty members’ research has been published in journals like Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Econometrica, Journal of Finance, Management Science, Organization Science, Review of Financial Studies, Strategic Management Journal or The Accounting Review, among others. We provide faculty members and PhD students with a wide range of facilities to improve their research, including access to the common databases used in the field.

Teaching includes programmes at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including an MBA programme accredited by AMBA and our very demanding PhD programme on Business Administration and Quantitative Methods.

The department is a member of the academic council of the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM).

  • Paper awards

10/11/09: In the recent Finance Forum in Madrid, Professor Maria Gutierrez has obtained the best paper award in regulation issues for her article "A Carrot and Stick Approach to Discipline Self-Dealing by Controlling Shareholders". Also, Professors Josep A. Tribó and Beatriz Mariano have been awarded as the best paper in corporate finance for their article "Evidence of Risk Shifting from Debt Covenant Violations".
