New students should be aware that the aim of the Degree in Business Administration is to provide them with the most competitive training available in the area of Business Management. For this reason the degree will become more challenging as it progresses and consequently the following attitudes are required:
- Responsibility. Students should realise that effort on a daily basis will enable them to reach their goals and that the level of dedication required will be set by the level of results.
- Receptive attitude. Students must be open to all new ideas which are presented during the course.
- Curiosity and drive. Students should have an entrepreneurial spirit and be ready to discover new things for themselves.
The knowledge acquired during Bachiller or equivalent studies is sufficient to embark on the degree in Business Administration. The following abilities are desirable:
- Numeric reasoning. Ability to carry out numeric calculations.
- Logical reasoning. Capacity to understand causal relations and their effects.
- Abstract reasoning. Capacity to distance oneself from problems and so find perspectives which help to solve them.
- Concentration. Capacity to focus attention voluntarily on an activity and isolate oneself from other things happening around.
It is not, however, essential that students have all these abilities when starting the degree. They will be acquired and worked on appropriately throughout the whole course. What are essential, however, are the attitudes mentioned above.
