For many years now, the technologies related to audio, image and video have been playing a significant role in our society. However, over the last years these technologies have increased their presence, fundamentally due to digital formats and the tremendous accessibility of telecommunications. As a consequence, there is a demand from diverse sectors for qualified professionals with a higher level of training than what is currently offered in similar branches of vocational training, and who have solid technical knowledge as well as leadership qualities for human teams and projects. It is no wonder that this profile is one of the most in demand by students who enter the University. Furthermore, it is interesting to emphasize that this degree’s potential has grown due to its transformation into a four-year degree, according to the model proposed by the European Higher Education Area (“Bologna”), as it stresses more general training, making later professional development easy for future degree holders, and the students’ training in transversal capabilities such as learning ability or teamwork.

The content of this degree includes, in addition to classic training in audio and image (electronic, electroacoustics, etc.), advanced aspects about multimedia information processing ad transmitting.
